Using music to end Cancer!!

September 18, 2017

Cancer is a horrible, often life threatening disease that unfortunately most of us have been affected by in some sort of way. There is nothing more that I love than singing, especially when I am doing so for an important cause.

This Tuesday I will be joined by some of Cleveland's finest musicians including, Michael Weber, Chris Bloomhuff, Gary Stulak, and Tommy Amato, and we will be promoting the Tommy Amato Rock Relief Benefit, which is hosted at Slim and Chubby's in Strongsville Ohio. The Rock Relief this year honors and celebrates the life of Cleveland drummer, Mitch Piazza, whom we recently lost to cancer. There is a $20 donation at the door, prizes, raffles, and great bands, and of course all of the proceeds will go directly to Mitch's family. The guys and I will be opening up the show and I could not be anymore honored.

Also, this Saturday I head to The Prayers For Maria Sunflower Field in Avon Ohio to bring awareness to end childhood cancer in the most beautiful way possible. 2 years ago I had the honor to sing at the sunflower field and it brought tears to my eyes as I watched the sun set, looked at the flowers, watched fireworks, read the stories of the children who lost the fight to cancer, and saw everyone gathering to turn something so absolutely heart wrenching into something so powerful, moving and truly beautiful.

I am so blessed to be able to spread awareness to something so impactful in society. I have personally been touched by cancer through my father, who beat prostate cancer, and my Papa who unfortunately won many battles but lost the war. I dream of a day when Cancer was a thing of the past, where cancer can no longer take away lives, and devastate those left behind. I believe by spreading awareness and by bringing light to the matter, we can make a change and eventually we can beat cancer.

Thank ya'll so much!!

t forget to tune into Fox 8, and come support these beautiful event's!
